Does the World Really Need a Vampire Festival?
Emphatically, “yes.” Whereas most horror festivals tailor their
festivals to slasher flicks with only a cursory consideration for more stylish works, Vampire Fest will be a serious celebration of the finest in the supernatural genre. It is our hope to use Vampire Festival as a path for aspiring filmmakers in this unique genre to meet producers and distributors who are looking for product to market. Most importantly we will be part of the effort to rebuilt New Orleans.
When Will It Take Place?
Vampire Fest is scheduled during the Halloween weekend at the time of annual Anne Rice Vampire Ball in New Orleans and a week after the Voodoo Music Festival. People throughout the country flock to New Orleans to celebrate All Hallows Eve and even after its most famous resident, Anne Rice, left New Orleans, the vampire soirees continued. The producers of Vampire Fest are hopeful that the city New Orleans is ready for a major film festival.
