Get Bitten in New Orleans
2009 Vampire Film Series & Festival
Pasadena, Calif. March 10, 2009 - Reel Energy Entertainment, producers of the Vampire Film Series and Festival (aka Vampire Fest), invites you to join us in New Orleans for Vampire Fest 2009. Though Vampire Fest originated in Hollywood, it was always the plan of Reel Energy to bring the event home to the Crescent City, the birthplace of jazz, voodoo and Anne Rice. With its great nightlife, Gothic architecture and diverse population, New Orleans is the ideal location for Vampire Fest.
It is our hope to use Vampire Fest as a path for aspiring filmmakers working in this unique genre to meet producers and distributors who are looking for exceptional product to market. Most importantly, Vampire Fest will be part of the effort to rebuild New Orleans. Our venues and dates will be announced later in the year.
Our website is located at www.vampirefilmfestival.com and is quickly becoming a unique portal for those interested in supernatural-themed cinema. We have just added footage from earlier Vampire Fests and two short films. Upir and Lady Killer, both from Vampire Fest in Hollywood. In addition we are proud to present an excerpt from writer Catherine Karp’s newest novel, The Vampire Wife. Also be sure to visit our vampire channels on YouTube: www.youtube.com/vampirefilmfestival and Daily Motion: http://www.dailymotion.com/group/vampirefilmfestival. Soon to be home of the largest collections of vampire films in the world.
Vampire Fest accepts all films that could be classified in the context of vampire, supernatural and the bizarre including documentaries. Vampire Fest will accept any narrative or experimental film that emphasizes the grotesque, mysterious or desolate. Since other supernatural creatures including werewolves, ghosts, zombies are interconnected with that of vampire, Vampire Fest is also open to films of the Gothic, zombie, werewolf or ghost genre. Submissions will be open at the end of March.
Come to Vampire Fest. We’re looking for films with a bite!
