Summit Entertainment may be taking the third installation of the Twilight franchise in a new, scarier direction.  Filmmaker David Slade, director of the vampire classic, 30 Days of Night, has been announced as the director of the third film in the Twilight franchise, Eclipse.  Luckily Stephanie Meyer, author of the Twilight literary series is overjoyed at the choice.  “I am thrilled that David Slade will be directing Eclipse. He’s a visionary filmmaker who has so much to offer this franchise.”
